Our Supplemental Curricula

We take pride in being the only DDA in the area to employ a full-time curriculum development specialist to work in conjunction with our clinical team. Our specialist works tirelessly to develop and create concrete teaching methods and materials to cover the subtle nuances of social interactions which can cause many of our children to stumble, thereby creating more successful outcomes. These materials are then paired with the children’s individualized plans to target their greatest areas of struggle and turn them into strengths.

Aggression Replacement Training

ART is a curriculum designed to teach specific social, anger control, and moral reasoning skills that aggressive youth often either struggle with or do not know. These skills lead to a reduction in behaviors as children learn methods that more effectively lead to the positive results they are seeking.

Empathy and Social Competence Training

This curriculum seeks to increase a child ability to take the perspective of others, and follow social interaction rules. These skills can often be quite difficult for individuals with autism to pick up on their own, so teaching concrete skills can increase their comfort in social interactions, and decrease potentially cruel behavior by promoting perspective taking.

Superflex: Thinkables and Unthinkabots

Superflex is a curriculum made for children with a physical or developmental ages of 3-6. It covers many of the same skills as Aggression Replacement and Empathy curriculums, but uses a battle of superheroes and creatures to teach the skills. The curriculum uses inspiration to give kids the motivation to practice, as they learn that engaging in these skills turns them into real-life superheroes.

Additional Curriculums as Needed

As we take on new clients or see needs changing, our curriculum specialist is ready to create new resources to serve those needs. Whenever possible, curricula are selected from those developed with clinical partners to ensure treatment effectiveness. When this is not possible, new curricula are carefully developed by the specialist working closely with our clinical administration team to ensure treatment and learning efficiency.

Toilet Training Individuals with Autism

We recognize that one of the greatest barriers to success and normalcy for individuals with autism and their families is potty training. As these individuals get older without learning this skill, the level to which they may be ostracized rapidly increases. Due to this increase, as a company we are committed to rapidly resolving this skill deficit as we encounter it. We work to develop methods to implement both during our treatment times and at the clients home for efficient learning.

Safety Awareness For Empowerment

This curriculum targets those with developmental delays who are old enough to begin experiencing puberty, dating, and/or sexual feelings. It concretely teaches what is and is not alright in relationships, red flags for abuse, how to recognize toxic or grooming behaviors, and many other things necessary for adulthood safety. This allows both the individuals and their caretakers to feel safer and more confident in their safety as they grow older.

Zones of Regulation

Many individuals with autism struggle to recognize when their emotions are dysregulated, and bring them back to regulation. We teach them this system because it is simple, easy to remember, and also used in many schools. Introducing them to this system early allows for an easier transition into the school system and increases positive school outcomes.
